X-Change & Good Money’s new dynamic LP “Living the Nitelife – Deluxe Version” is out now worldwide June 18th, 2013. The 17 track LP is an artistic collaboration between X-Change and Good Money. X-Change is an artist, producer and DJ who has crafted remixes that have topped the iTunes Dance charts along with producing tracks for multiple artists including Big Nab and Marc Elliott. Good Money has had huge international success writing and performing vocals under the name Coon Daddy, and has worked with Trick Trick, MC Breed, Proof (from D12) and many more. After meeting in late 2010 the duo began work on a full-length album that eventually resulted in the creation of their pop infused hip-hop sound. With two minds that demand a distinctive sound to set them apart from the crowd, they developed something of a crossover powerhouse of music. With slamming 808s and larger than life pop synth melodies, all tossed together with their rhythmic hip-hop rhymes, they caught the attention of DJ’s and fans worldwide. They took part in every aspect of the recording process, from producing to arranging and writing, for an album that was all their own. X-Change even handled the recording, mixing and mastering from the recording studio that he owns and operates, Studio X in Sterling Heights, MI. Together, they’ve created an energetic and resoundingly popular sound on “Living The Nitelife” that is sure to find its place among the pop and hip-hop heavyweights on the radio airwaves.
The album gets off to a banging start with a track full of attitude on “I’m Trying To Take You Places” in which Rita Mosley lends her voice to the chorus and back ground vocals. All about keeping it real while rising up in the world, it’s a full on rhythmic wonder that’s full of surprises with a bumping beat, perfect for that car ride with the windows down. It effortlessly showcases their ability to dive into a Top40 friendly sound and appeal to an even wider audience. On the hyped up track “Yeah! I Think It’s Going Down,” there’s an immediate atmosphere to the constant movement exhibited from the very first down beat of the song. All about losing yourself on the dance floor, the electronic synths and heavy beat all build up to an explosive breakdown, leaving no question that X-Change & Good Money can get a crowd moving.
Their first single, “Nitelife (This Is The life For Me – Remix)” (featuring M-Rey & Big Nab) is a bumping party track that puts the listener in the center of the biggest celebration on earth. Flashes of party cities litter the track with call-outs to Vegas and Miami getting your body moving from the first beat. “Nitelife” is a hard-hitting club anthem that’s beyond unstoppable. With a banging pop synth chorus that’s full of layered vocals over the rhythmic rap that carries the song to it’s final destination, it showcases their crossover ability and puts their music up on the same level as the Neptunes and even the recent underground success of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. With “I See It In Your Eyes” they infuse their sound with even more of that club scene vibe, with staccato snare rolls and a swirling synth melody that kicks in at the chorus, luring the listener into a groove that they can’t resist. It throws you effortlessly onto the dance floor, surrounded by party people in the middle of the room, bringing to life a scene straight out of a Vegas club. The electric-synth, hard-hitting hip-hop anthem “Smoke Coming All Off Me (Puff Puff Pass – Remix)” features heavyweights, Trick Trick and Diezel. Trick Trick has had huge success with his track “Welcome To Detroit” featuring the legendary Eminem. With the sizzling hot addition of Trick Trick’s 16-bar verse, “Smoke” gets a new electrifying twist. It’s an instant hit of energy, the perfect club track to entice the entire crowd to get it going and party like there’s no tomorrow. Another ode to the party life appears in “She Can Come Too (Bring Em’ All),” ripe with clever punch lines that play up the classy urban lifestyle, this track is all flow. The rhythmic movement is exemplified on this stand-out tune that paints the group as the hip-hop heavyweights they are, leaving no doubt of their talent in the genre while they drift away from the pop-infused sound of early album tracks for something that is fresh and vivacious. The perfect marriage of rap and pop comes together with utter confidence on “College Party Drunk.” It’s sure to be a stand out track with party goers across the globe, throwing it on as they get ready to head out for the night, whether they’re in college or not. It’s hyped up fun with a dirty drum line, full of the same witty lyricism that’s strewn across the whole LP.
X-Change & Good Money know how to get a hook in your head and make you remember it, which becomes even more apparent on this sparse, beat heavy track that is so flow heavy you hardly realize there’s anything other than their voices carrying the song. Rounding out the album is “Hey Ma” featuring M-Rey and DJ Joey A, a synth heavy, melodically immersed track from start to finish. Another rhyme-centric song, there’s a constant flow from the chorus to the verses, with hardly a moment of down time. All thudding club bass and syncopated, hiccuping synths, the instrumentation behind the rap session is as impressive as X-Change & Good Money’s ability to switch rhyme cadences on the fly. On an album that will speak to club goers, partying pop listeners and hip-hop aficionados; X-Change & Good Money come at music listeners with their aggressive new sound and the determination to impress across genres.
